Duncan Connors

Dr Duncan Connors is a business historian and governance specialist whose career has spanned business, academia, cultural institutions, and public policy. He has published widely on industry, trade, and corporate governance, and has held senior roles in both universities and the arts sector. Drawing on first-hand experience of the damage caused by toxic workplaces, he has now founded Workplace Justice NZ, a charitable trust dedicated to stamping out workplace bullying and reshaping workplace culture in Aotearoa. Through advocacy, lobbying, education, and the promotion of a model code of practice for employers, Dr Connors aims to ensure that fairness, dignity, and collaboration replace fear, silence, and coercion, helping New Zealand unlock the full potential of its people and economy.

Virginia Knight

Dr Virginia Knight is a medical doctor, qualified at the University of London’s Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, who worked as a General Practitioner in the United Kingdom before moving to New Zealand with her husband, Dr Duncan Connors. With decades of experience supporting patients’ physical and mental health, she has seen the damaging effects that bullying and toxic workplace cultures have on wellbeing. Virginia is now dedicated to using her medical insight and compassion through Workplace Justice NZ, advocating for healthier workplaces, stronger protections, and a culture of respect that enables all New Zealanders to thrive.

Damien Mather

Dr Damien Mather is a marketing scholar whose work bridges business strategy, consumer behaviour, and public policy. He has published extensively on decision-making under uncertainty, branding, and the ways in which science, technology, and regulation shape consumer trust. His research appears in leading journals and he has contributed to major collaborative projects on climate-smart innovation and sustainable business practices. As a trustee of Workplace Justice NZ, Dr Mather applies his expertise and behavioural insight to the challenge of tackling workplace bullying and toxic organisational cultures. Through advocacy, lobbying, education to he is committed to building healthier, fairer, and more productive workplaces across Aotearoa.
